The Truth About Speaking and Listening
Jackson has taught me that speaking and listening are not separate things, but, they are in fact one in the same. If you follow our infinity physics, you will know this aligns with our observations that polarity does not exist outside our perception of it. About speaking and listening:
When one focuses on the self, you contract your reality into who you are internally and simultaneously expand your will externally. A simple example of this is when you speak.
When you speak, you consolidate your sensory, mental and emotional perceptions (contract); while simultaneously seeding reality with your intentions through speech (expansion).
So you are giving and receiving information.
When one focuses outside of oneself, you expand into who you are externally while simultaneously consolidating your externally self into your internal self (contraction). A simple example of this is listening.
When you listen you expand (expansion) your awareness into your external reality, giving away your ego self, while simultaneously contracting your external self into your internal self (ego self), becoming aware of who you are from a universal perspective (contraction).
So you are receiving and giving information.
When you speak you are giving to your external reality while receiving instantaneously what you give. So, as “you are what you eat”, you also are what you speak. Your words reorganize your reality by instantaneously feeding back to you an altered awareness of your presumed external environment.
When you listen, truly listen (not just listening for a pause so you can speak), you project yourself into your external environment and relate to it. When you do this you are connected with everything and so the unity of all things begins to contract into who you are as an individual.
This is why we need to balance our speaking with our listening. Balance our opinions with our openness to change opinions. Balance our mental activity with a mental receptiveness. Balance ego with unity.
We can speak lovingly, seeding the universe with love and draw it back to ourselves. We can do this if we use speech as a means to self expression as we do in music and poetry. Mostly speech is used to manipulate and control our environment and everything in it; to bring everything in alignment with our ego, our opinions and preferences.
When we speak lovingly there is an equal element of speaking and listening. When we honor ourselves by listening there is an equal element of listening and speaking. They happen simultaneously and when it is “done right” (in balance ), there is no difference between speaking and listening… they are the same thing, perceived as separate through our false assumptions.
Think on these things.
